Organic Foods

On the farm...

A 300-head cow/calf herd roams 300 acres of organic pasture; all breeders and calves are organically managed and fed only "free choice" Roseland organic grasses and grains.

Diversity is important at Roseland Farms.  Along with the pasture areas are woodlands, ponds, wild "orchards", wetlands and an indescribably wide array of habitats for rare animals and plants.  Such diversity keeps beneficial predators and insects in abundance on the farm to naturally control "pest" insects and weeds.   Tilling practices involve multi-year rotation, inter-cropping, the incorporation of legume crops for fertility, non-tillage of erodible areas, buffers around ponds, and timely plantings.

In the market...

Organic Beef:  All cuts are available at Roseland Farm Market on a daily basis, frozen, individually wrapped; or buy a half/quarter of beef to fill the freezer; we cut to customer's specifications.

Cuts include: roasts, steaks, ground beef (also ground round, chuck, sirloin, and extra-lean), stir-fry, ribs, filet, and more.  Tastes like meat used to taste, and without the unneeded and unwanted chemicals.

We also have Roseland Honey, maple syrup, paw paws, walnuts and choice vegetables in season.
